  26. When a modem answers and then hangs up immediately, this usually indicates
  27. a problem between the two modems; this sort of problem is quite difficult to
  28. pin down.

  30. In Windows, there are always several ways to do the same thing; sometimes
  31. one works better than another.  So before we dig deeper, why don't you try
  32. using the "set port com1, set modem type xxx" approach, rather than TAPI?
  33. If it works, we've saved ourselves some time.

  36. the type of modem you have, the version of Windows, etc, plus exactly what
  37. you mean by "hang".
